New Year

We welcomed in the year of 2022 here in Louisville, CO under clouds of thick, black smoke as wildfires tore through our town. As you may have heard on the news, more than 30,000 people fled ahead of fast moving fires driven by winds that reached 100mph on Thursday.

I had enough time to grab my laptop and run out the door, jump in the car and start the process of navigating packed streets as we all tried to find a safe place to wait and watch. My section of town, known as "Old Town" made it through the disaster pretty much untouched while areas to the north and south less than a mile away were completely destroyed. I'm back in my house now so fortunate.

Nothing is guaranteed. Everything changes.
